David Sitar was nominated, elected and accepted the role of Vice President of the North Carolina Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers (NCS-AAPT). It is a three year appointment where he will serve as Vice President for one term, then as President-Elect for a term and finally as President the last term. He will be serving with some of our very own, Rebecca Stamilio Ehret, who is now President-Elect, and Thomas Hefner who serves as the High School Representative.
David states, "This is a huge honor and I hope to be able to continue to navigate the importance of physics and science education in this State...I am extremely excited for this, proud to do such a great service for our department and to represent our outstanding university."
The appointment begins May 1st but the NCS-AAPT website has already updated the list of officers. https://sites.google.com/site/ncsaapt/officers.
