Undergraduate student Claire Brown had the opportunity to study abroad in Dublin, Ireland with the Chancellor's Voyage. This is part of the Chancellor's Scholar program at Appalachian State. Claire was one of the few students to be selected for this very honorable scholarship.
When asked about her experience abroad, Claire said: "I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to study abroad in Ireland during the fall break of my freshmen year. We spent the week in Dublin, traveling to see historical sights, eating authentic food, and really immersing ourselves in the local culture. It was so much fun to be able to explore a new place while also experiencing first hand the things we had been talking about in our Irish History class. Being able to study abroad so early in my college career really allowed me to open my eyes to the possibilities that Appalachian offers when it comes to international travel. There’s no doubt in my mind that I’ll be studying abroad again, and hopefully this time it’ll be for a full semester!"
