Student Experiences in Physics and Astronomy
Student research and outreach at Appalachian State University supports and promotes learning outside of the classroom through mentored research experiences with Appalachian faculty and other national and international scholars and professionals. We believe that these special collaborative relationships are among the most rewarding experiences for both faculty members and students. In the Department of Physics and Astronomy, students are encouraged to reach out to faculty if they are interested in learning outside of the classroom.
Highlighted stories about both on-campus and off-campus experiences provide an example of what students can do in the department.
We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
